New stuff

Hello internet. Some new items to discuss that some of you may be interested in.

Gigs - I have a few that should be fun. The Jamie Rosenn Group is playing at the 1st and Central Summer Concert in Little Tokyo on Thursday July 24. That will be featuring Matt Otto on sax, Joe Bagg on piano, Ryan McGillicuddy on bass and Jason Harnell on drums and some of my lesser played originals. Also on the bill is pianist Gary Fukushima's group. I'm looking forward to it.

JoE-LeSs shOe with Otto and Harnell is playing at the Los Angeles Jazz Collective's Summer Mini Fest at the Pasadena Jazz Institute on August 1st. That festival also includes my brother Gabe's group, Los Devastrados. Two Rosenns for the price of one!

And Option 3 with Joe Bagg on organ and Jason Harnell filling in for Mark Ferber (informally referred to as "Option 3-ish") will be playing at the Angel City Jazz Festival on September 1st. Some great groups on that bill as well, including Nels Cline's tribute to Jimmy Giuffre.

Archived stuff - Option 3 recently played live in the studio on the Global Village show on KPFK. You can listen to it at this link.

And here are a few YouTube clips:

JoE-LeSs shOe in Idyllwild playing "Bigfoot"

And finally, the JoE-LeSs shOe CD is available now on eMusic at this link and the Option 3 CD is now available at iTunes at this link.

OK folks, have a good day and hope to see you soon.

LAJC Launch Fest, Option 3 CD Release!

Hello there again. Lots of stuff to report. The Option 3 CD with Joe Bagg on organ and Mark Ferber has been pressed and will be available on CD Baby in a few days. I'll get you the link as soon as I get it. Until then you can get it from me in person at some upcoming gigs. Speaking of which, Option 3 will be playing at Club Metropol April 5th as part of the Los Angeles Jazz Collective's Launch Festival. We've been hard at work over the past 4 months or so to make this group happen. Everyone gets a free LAJC Sampler CD with admission, so come on down. There's going to be a lot of great music. Also, I'm happy to say that John Pisano has asked me to play his Guitar Night at Spazio again. It's always an honor to be a part of that local institution. I'll be doing that on April 29th. Hope you can make it.

A few new YouTube clips

A couple of YouTube clips have recently surfaced. The first one is of part of my solo on "All the Things" from my "Guitar Night" at Spazio with John Pisano. It was so fun to play with John and I felt very welcomed by the LA guitar community. The second is of Barry Zweig and myself sitting in on Jimmy Wyble's gig at Chado in Pasadena. For those that don't know, Jimmy is an 85 year old guitar legend with a very unique contrapuntal style. He's just coming out of a 20 year retirement and he sounds amazing. He's a very inpsiring person to be be around in general. He plays every Tuesday at Chado from 11am to 5pm and you'll usually find some of LA's finest guitarists listening and sitting in.Guitar NightChado

Upcoming stuff...

Sorry for letting the site updates go. I'll try harder to keep everything up to date. I'm looking forward to some upcoming gigs with Alan Ferber's Nonet. It's challenging music and its got me shedding. We're playing at Saddleback College on Tuesday April 3rd, Land on the 4thd and Vibrato on the 5th. Hope to see some of you.

Also, Joe-less Shoe recorded last month and I'll keep you posted about developments with that recording. There are a few clips up at Jason Harnell's myspace page. We'll be playing at Land on April 30th.

Also, special thanks to photographer Abigail Gonzalez for the very fine photo you see on the front page of this site. I will be showcasing her work in the future.

A quick update

I recently got some new gear; a D'Aquisto Jazzline and a Walter Woods amp. I'm still getting used to the feel of the D'Aquisto but I like it a lot. If you want to check 'em out come to Vibrato on Thurs 09/21 where I'l be playing with Joe Bagg and Mark Ferber. This trio recently recorded and hopefully we'll get it out soon. The Shoeless Joe trio with Jason Harnell, Matt Otto and myself are planning a recording as well so keep on the look out. Ok, that's about it for now.-jamie

The Gematriculator, through amazingly complicated mathematical principles, has determined that www.jamierosenn.com is 11% evil and 89% good. I'm ok with this ratio but wouldn't mind trying to up the evil quotient a bit. I'll see what I can do. Maybe include an article on b5 subs.

Updates & Gigs & Peyote Induced Promo Shots

MyPicture
Our trio with Jason Harnell, Matt Otto and myself (working name: Joe-less Shoe) is doing a fairly last minute gig at Club Tropical on Monday 06/19/06. The attached picture is what we would look like if you'd been on a 2 day peyote journey and ended up in Jason's office after we rehearsed. Hope to see you there (at the gig, not in his office). Also if anyone's been keeping track, I've been messing around with the webpage (changes in the design and the photo gallery section). I'll probably put a few more movie clips in there soon.

Recent News

Howdy. A few things to report. Joe Bagg, Mark Ferber and myself are getting ready to put out a cd (we're just getting it mastered and then we're on to the final production stuff). A few clips are available at the sound clips section under the very temporary name "Options". That group is playing July 31st at 2nd St. Jazz. And I just recorded with the Saddleback jazz faculty under the direction of Joey Sellers. We got some good takes and I'll keep you posted on when that surfaces. Ok, that's about it for now.

Some Updates

If anyone's keeping track, I updated the photo gallery pages, and put up the sound clips. Oh yeah, almost forgot, I added a link to Jason Harnell's website. Run-Don't walk! (er, click-don't not click!), Check it out! Just wanted to keep everyone posted.

Site's up.

So as you can tell the new site is up. I'm still working on getting some sound clips up in a fairly stylish way but it will happen soon. The movies section is new and there's a direct link to my myspace page. If you have any comments let me know. That's it for now. See ya.
